UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Men's golf currently sits in fourth place at 13-over after two rounds of the Inverness Intercollegiate with one final round left to play.

ROUND 1

The Blue and White shot a 4-over 288 en route to a fourth place standing following the first 18 holes of the tournament. A 15-minute fog delay led off what turned out to be an otherwise great day weather-wise and sophomore Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Ga.) took full advantage shooting a 2-under 69 to put him in a six-way tie for fifth place. Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) shot even par to finish in a tie for 13th and freshman Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) ended 1-over par, but in a tie for 16th placing three Nittany Lions within the top 20 competitors. Senior Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) and sophomore JD Hughes (Carlisle, Pa.) both shot 76 in the opening round.

The only teams to shoot under par to open the tournament, Duke (-7) and Auburn (-4), sat in first and second, respectively before Bowling Green (+3) came in one stroke the better of the Lions. Michigan State (+6) and Michigan (+8) followed suit in fifth and sixth. Auburn's Matt Gilchrist led the way individually posting a 7-under 64 to start the day.

ROUND 2

The Lions began and ended the second round of play in fourth place after a 9-over 293 coupled with their first round performance lands them at 13-over for the tournament. Charles Huntzinger shot an even par second round to stay in a tie for fifth place at 2-under.

Junior Cole Miller finished hot as he birdied two out of his last three holes shooting a 2-over 73 to sit at 144 and in a tie for 10th entering the final round of play. Ryan Davis shot 3-over putting him at 4-over on the day and in a tie for 26th. Christian Elliott (T43, +9) and JD Hughes (T51, +10) shot a 75 and 76, respectively.
