Nittany Lion Women's Fencing Dominated at Nittany Lion Cup

Women's team finished off the second day of competition today.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 25, 2016 -- The Penn State women's fencing team dominated the last day of the Nittany Lion Cup Open taking home first place in epee, sabre and foil.

Freshman Jade Rowland (Princeton Junction, N.J.) took home first place in Foil. Junior Najiyyah Clark (Maplewood, N.J.) placed second and fellow junior Kasey Iverson (Basking Ridge, N.J.) finished third.

The women's fencing team finished strong in epee with senior Jessica O'Neill-Lyublinsky (North Salem, N.Y.) coming in first place and sophomore Antastasia Kalonji (Rennes, France) placing second. Freshman Barbara Vanbenthuysen (Spring, TX) took third place.

Senior Teodora Kakhiani (Tbilisi, Georgia) came in first in the saber with sophomore Karen Chang (Kowloon, Hong Kong) placing second. Sophomore DeAna Oliver (Montclair, N.J.) placed third.

The Penn State Fencing team will be competing in the Olympics Trials on October 7 -10.
