UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team had its third tournament of the year, the Primland Collegiate, cancelled after heavy fog limited visibility on both days.
This is the first time an entire tournament has been cancelled due to fog in head coach Greg Nye's 25-year tenure at the helm of the men's golf program here at University Park. The last tournament on the Lions' schedule to be cancelled due to weather was the Kepler Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio State in 2005 when it was cancelled due to heavy rain and snow conditions.
The team will return to action October 14-16 as the reigning champions of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate hosted by East Tennessee State.
