UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State's Gini Bramley (Elizabethtown, Pa.) scored a pair of goals to help the Nittany Lions to their third Big Ten win of the season as they defeated Michigan State (5-5, 1-2 B1G) 4-1 Friday afternoon at the field hockey complex.

Michigan State got on the board first as Megan Fenton scored her ninth goal of the season, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead.

Trailing the Spartans 1-0, Moira Putsch (Media, Pa.) got the ball off a long pass, dribbled into the circle and found the back of the cage to tie the game at 1-1.

From here on out, the Lions controlled of the game. With less than a minute left in the first period, Aurelia Meijer (Hattem, Netherlands) launched the ball from the top of the circle to earn her fifth goal of the season giving Penn State a 2-1 lead heading into the half.

Gini Bramley was able to find the back of the cage twice to seal the deal for Penn State. Assisted by Putsch, Bramley was able to score her first goal of the game in the 67th-minute.

With less than ten minutes remaining in the game, Bramley dribbled in around the left side and earned her second goal of the game to tie a career high in goals matching her performance against Bucknell from earlier this season.

Penn State dominated the Spartans on the offensive side of the ball, attempting 24 shots to Michigan State's six and earning nine penalty corners compared to two penalty corners by Michigan State.

Penn State is now 10-1 on the season and 3-1 in Big Ten play moving the Lions past their win total of nine from last season.

Penn State returns action Sunday afternoon to host No. 11 Princeton in a non-conference match Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Field Hockey Complex.
