UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A trio of Nittany Lions were named to the TopDrawerSoccer Freshmen Top 100 List. Amanda Dennis (San Diego, Calif.), Grace Fisk (Bromley, London, England) and Laura Freigang (Oppenheim, Germany) received midseason honors from TopDrawerSoccer.
Dennis leads the Nittany Lion trio at 15, followed by Freigang at 35 and Fisk at 74.
Dennis, a goalkeeper, has started all 14 matches in 2016 and played 1317:49 minutes. In minutes played this season by a goalkeeper, Dennis ranks 38th overall and seventh among freshmen. Dennis also ranks 36th in the nation with a goals against average of 0.683. Through 14 contests in 2016, Dennis has allowed 10 goals, made 34 saves, stopped a penalty kick, tallied five solo shutouts and played in six Nittany Lion shutouts overall.
Fisk, a defender, has started and played in 13 contests on the year. In 2016, Fisk has played 1170 minutes, which is fourth-best on the team. On Sept. 11, Fisk scored her first career goal in a 2-0 win against La Salle.
Freigang, a midfielder/forward, has played in 11 games, which includes a pair of starts. In the season-opener against then-No. 6 West Virginia (Aug. 19), Freigang scored her first career goal. On the year, Freigang has one goal and has taken 22 shot attempts.
The No. 16 Nittany Lions host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. live on the Big Ten Network. Penn State closes out the weekend homestand against Purdue Sunday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m.
