Big Ten Release
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State field hockey sophomore midfielder Aurelia Meijer (Hattem, Netherlands) was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the second time in her career that Meijer has earned Big Ten weekly honors for the Nittany Lions following her first nod last season after recording a hat trick against Iowa at home.
Meijer rallied her team from behind Friday afternoon against Rutgers on the road scoring three of the four unanswered goals in the second half as Penn State won 4-1.
This is the first Big Ten Athlete of the Week since Moira Putsch on Aug. 30, 2016.
Penn State hosts Indiana this Friday on Senior Day at 6 p.m. in the final regular season game of the year.
