ROSEMONT, Ill. - After suffering a 1-0 loss to Northwestern, the Penn State men's soccer team earned the No. 5 seed in the 2016 Big Ten Conference Tournament Sunday, Oct. 30.
With the No. 5 seed, the Nittany Lions will travel to East Lansing, Mich. Sunday, Nov. 6 for a 1 p.m. match against No. 4 seed Michigan State. The match will be featured on BTN Plus.
The Blue and White defeated the Spartans in regular season play on a Robby Sagel (Las Vegas, Nev.) goal in double overtime Saturday, Oct. 15. Furthermore, the two teams clashed in the play in match of the 2015 Big Ten Conference Tournament with Penn State earning the 2-1 overtime win on a Dayonn Harris (Ontario, Canada) goal.
Finally, the Nittany Lions and the Spartans will plays for the 12th time in the Big Ten Tournament. Prior to 2015, the two teams met in the 2014 tournament when Penn State was the No. 4 seed and MSU was the No. 5 seed. The Blue and White fell to Michigan State in the quarterfinal hosted at Jeffrey Field.
