The Nittany Lions Men's Fencing Team Dominates on Day Two at the Garret Open
The Penn State men's fencing team breezes through the competition
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; - The Penn State men's fencing team had a strong day of competition, finishing strong in epee and saber.
Men's foil started the competition with senior Howie Chan (Walnut, Calif.) finishing in fifth place and freshman Andrey Ostatnigrosh (Fresno, Calif.) tying for seventh.
Men's epee dominated the competition with senior Oskar Tang (Gothenburg, Sweden) coming in first place, sophomore Anton Piskovatskov (Houston, TX) following in second place. Sophomore Joshua Cole ( Chappaqua, N.Y.) placed ninth with fellow Nittany Lion freshman Clinton Rodell finishing tenth.
Men's saber finished the day off with a second place win by sophomore Karol Metryka ( Linden, N.J.) and junior Andrew Mackiewicz ( Westwood, Mass.) finishing in tenth place.
