UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's hockey team fell 3-0 to the No. 3/4 St. Lawrence Saints in a non-conference contest Monday evening inside the Pegula ice Arena. Nittany Lion (5-7-3, 4-1-1 CHA) goaltender Hannah Ehresmann (Minnetonka, Minn.) recorded 34 saves in the game, which included 15 saves during the second period.

"We got bookends to build on," head coach Josh Brandwene said. "A really good first period and a really good third period. The next step for us is a little more consistency throughout the course of the hockey game and continued attention to decision making at both blue lines. Add the consistency, add the attention to detail at both blue lines and that gives us an opportunity to be successful on Tuesday."

The Saints (14-0-1, 8-0-0 ECAC) took a 1-0 lead 12:43 into the game on Justine Reyes' seventh goal of the season and then the Saints added to their lead in the second stanza on a power play goal from Kennedy Marchment at 11:37.

Early in the third period, St. Lawrence goaltender Grace Harrison made a key save on a breakaway chance for Laura Bowman (Minnetonka, Minn.). Along with the breakaway chance, the third period of play featured the Nittany Lions tallying a pair of power play opportunities.

With 1:28 left in regulation St. Lawrence netted an empty net goal, as Marchment tallied her second goal of the game, and her ninth of the season, to give the Saints a 3-0 lead.

The two teams close out the non-conference series Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. inside the Pegula Ice Arena. Tuesday's game is a Family 4 Pack game.
