UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.
- Emerging from College Park, MD as the 2016 Big Ten Tournament Champions, Penn State moved up one spot in the polls to No. 5 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll released Tuesday afternoon.

Penn State (17-2) is coming off a 2-1 win over Maryland in the Big Ten Championship game at Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, MD this past Sunday.

The Nittany Lions captured their conference record seventh Big Ten Championship title and most recent since winning the tournament in back-to-back season in 2011 and 2012.

Penn State's Gini Bramley captured tournament MVP honors, the fifth occurrence in program history and first since Kelsey Amy earned back-to-back honors in '11 & '12.

Penn State is the only Big Ten team to win at Maryland's current complex having done so on two occasions (Nov. 11, 2007; Nov. 6, 2016).

Duke (15-3) remained the top team this week receiving 25 first-place votes to hold their same spot from last week.

The Big Ten runner-up, Maryland (17-4), moved up one spot to settle in at No. 2 spot in this week's poll.

Syracuse (14-3) swapped spots with the aforementioned Maryland to the No. 3 position receiving one first-place vote.

North Carolina (17-5) moves up one spot checking in at No. 4, while Penn State (17-2) rounds out the top five receiving four first-place vote - the most during the 2016 season - fresh off their run to the 2016 Big Ten Tournament Championship.

Penn State is set to face Princeton this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament hosted by Penn State University in University Park, Pa.

Tickets for this weekends NCAA First Round games and NCAA Quarterfinals are $8 for adults, $5 for student and youth and group tickets of 20 or more, any age are $4 each. Tickets will be sold in advance at the Athletic Ticket Office beginning on Tuesday, November 8 at 10:00 a.m. thru Friday, November 11 at 4:30 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the field entrance each day.
