Join the Nittany Lions during their fifth season of NCAA Division I hockey with the award-winning Penn State Hockey Story. Go behind the scenes with the Nittany Lions during what should be an exciting campaign.
EPISODE 1
The first episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season picks up with the team during its 13-game unbeaten streak, which includes a sweep of Big Ten Conference rival Michigan. We also highlight David Goodwin as he becomes the first Nittany Lion to register 100-career points. The Story also recaps a fall semester where Penn State had its best start ever going 13-1-1 and skyrocketing up the polls to No. 2 in the nation. The first episode concludes with a weekend trip to Columbus and a battle with the No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes.
EPISODE 2
The second episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season picks up with a weekend sweep at home against Michigan State. We also journey with Andrew Sturtz back to his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y. and we welcome in Brett Murray to the Penn State Hockey Family. The episode concludes with a seven-round shootout against No. 11 Ohio State at Pegula Ice Arena.
EPISODE 3
The third episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season picks up in Philly for the Philadelphia College Hockey Faceoff and highlights a couple local players in freshman Peyton Jones and senior Ricky DeRosa. Three Hobey Baker Award nominees are also looked at as Peyton Jones, Denis Smirnov and Andrew Sturtz were each nominated for the award. This episode also takes a look at our student managers and our trip to Minnesota.
EPISODE 4
The fourth episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season picks up in Wisconsin as the Nittany Lions earn a weekend sweep over the Badgers to snap a five-game winless drought. We then visit Casey Bailey as an AHL All-Star before featuring THON and our home series against Minnesota.
EPISODE 5
The fifth episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season picks up with David Goodwin as he drives to the rink for Senior Night against Wisconsin. The senior scored twice and added two assists as the Nittany Lions defeated the 16th-ranked Badgers 6-0 on a special night for our five seniors!
EPISODE 6
The sixth episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season heads to Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for the fourth annual Big Ten Tournament and in three consecutive nights the Nittany Lions defeated some of college hockey's most storied programs to capture it's first-ever title and clinch a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. Freshman Peyton Jones was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player as junior Erik Autio and freshman Liam Folkes each recorded double-overtime game-winning goals against Minnesota and Wisconsin, respectively.
EPISODE 7
The seventh and final episode of the Penn State Hockey Story for the 2016-17 season heads to Cincinnati for Penn State's first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Nittany Lions defeated Union (NY), 10-3, in the Midwest Regional semifinals before fall to top-overall seed Denver, 6-3, in the Midwest Regional Final.
