UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -Hitting the road for the first time in 12 days, the Penn State women's basketball program will travel to Assembly Hall for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Indiana on the Big Ten Network. The Lady Lions are looking to move their winning streak to three games, while Indiana is looking to sweep the season series with a win.

Series Notes

  • Penn State and Indiana will meet for the 45th time in program history and second time in 2016-17. MORE ON PAGE 5
  • The Lady Lions are 32-12 all-time against the Hoosiers, but IU has won each of the last three games.
  • Oddly enough, prior to playing Penn State this season, Indiana has won each of its games by a score of 74-60, beating Stony Brook and Purdue by the same score.
  • The first meeting came on Jan. 16, 1982, with Penn State winning, 83-74, in Rec Hall.
  • The two teams met on Dec. 28, 2016 in the Big Ten opener for both squads. Indiana claimed that contest, 89-70, at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Scouting Indiana

  • Indiana enters with a 13-6 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the Big Ten Conference. The Hoosiers are 8-1 at home, 3-5 on the road and 2-0 on a neutral floor this season.
  • The Hoosiers are shooting 48 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from 3-point range.
  • Limiting missed shots, Indiana also owns the edge on the glass with a plus-6.1 rebounding margin at 37.8-31.7.
  • Indiana also owns the edge in turnover margin at plus-3.3 in 2016-17. The Hoosiers commit just 13.5 missteps per game and force opponents into 16.8 turnovers per game.
  • Tyra Buss leads the team in scoring at 19.1 points per game, while Amanda Cahill and Alexis Gassion are each in double-figures, as well.
  • Cahill adds 15.3 points and a team-best 8.9 rebounds per game. Gassion adds 85 assists to 13.7 points per game in 19 starts.
  • A trio of Hoosiers have made at least 30 shots from 3-point range, led by Buss with 35. Cahill adds 32 shots from distance and Karlee McBride has hit 30 3-pointers.

  • Penn State is 3-2 in the last five games, winning two straight. The Lady Lions are 3-0 at home, but own a 0-2 record on the road.
  • As a team, Penn State is averaging just 12.2 turnovers per game over the last five, with a plus-6.6 turnovers margin. Penn State is forcing 18.8 opponent missteps per game over the last five.
  • The Lady Lions have also been throwing a block party, averaging 4.0 rejections per game in the past five games. The season average for the Lady Lions is just 2.7.
