WENTZVILLE, Mo. - Three Nittany Lions each found the back of the net as the Penn State women's hockey team (7-17-5, 6-7-2 CHA) captured a 4-1 victory over College Hockey America (CHA) opponent Lindenwood (5-19-2, 3-11-1 CHA) Friday night at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

Seniors Laura Bowman (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Amy Petersen (Minnetonka, Minn.) each tallied two points apiece, while sophomore Meike Meilleur (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and senior Sarah Nielsen (Edina, Minn.) each scored one goal.

Bowman put the Nittany Lions up 1-0 on her 16th goal of the season at the 8:46 mark in the first period, but the Penn State lead did not last long as Britannia Gillanders tied the game at one goal apiece at 9:29.

With 4:18 remaining in the first stanza, Bowman put the Nittany Lions back in front with her team-leading 17th goal of the year. With a pair of assists in the opening 20 minutes of action, Petersen moved closer to 100 career points (98).

The second period of play featured the Nittany Lions outshooting the Lindenwood Lions, 16-2, but Lindenwood netiminder Jolene deBruyn was there to keep the Blue & White off the scoreboard during the middle frame.

Despite being outshot by Lindenwood, 11-5, during the final 20 minutes of regulation, the Nittany Lions lit the lamp twice as Meilleur netted her seventh goal of the season at 7:29 and Nielsen tacked on an empty-net goal with 1:46 left in regulation.

Junior Hannah Ehresmann (Minnetonka, Minn.) and deBruyn each recorded 24 saves for their respective squads on the evening.

The two teams meet for the fourth, and final, time in the 2016-17 regular season Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. (EST) inside the Lindenwood Ice Arena.
