ROSEMONT, Ill. - Senior Steph Lazo (Stevensville, Md.) has been named the Big Ten women's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week as announced by the league office earlier Tuesday morning.
Lazo score five goals for the second week in-a-row while adding one assist for six points to help lift No. 7 Penn State past No. 19 Towson, 13-11, in a non-conference game last Saturday afternoon.
Her 12 points two weeks ago is the highest single-game total in all of Division I this season while her 18 total points lead the Big Ten and are tied for second nationally and her 9.00 points per game average paces the entire country. Lazo's eight assists and 10 goals are also top-5 in the country and second in the Big Ten.
Penn State returns to action this weekend as they welcome Lehigh to Happy Valley for a 3 p.m. affair on Saturday afternoon at the Penn State Lacrosse Field.
