It was a Day of Wins for the Penn State Fencing Team

Evanston, Ill. -- The Nittany Lions were undefeated in today's competition against University of Incarnate Word, Stanford University, Northwestern University, Lawrence University, Air Force Academy, University of California San Diego, University of North Carolina and California Institute of Technology.

The women's team got the first win of the day against UIW 22-5. The saber team went 3-0 in all three bouts. The men's team followed with a win against Stanford 18-9 with freshman Andrey Ostatnigrosh (Fresno, Calif.) going 3-0 in foil.

The women's team beat Northwestern 21-6 and the foil team went 3-0 in all three bouts. The men went 22-5 against Lawrence. Senior Patrick August (Las Vegas, Nev.) went 3-0 in epee and junior Stephen Barnett (Clinton, CT) went 3-0 in foil.

Penn State men's fencing defeated the Air Force 19-8 with Matthew Lewicki (Oakland, N.J.) going 3-0 in saber. Women's came out on top against Lawrence 23-4.

The Lions defeated UCSD in men's and women's 19-8. The women's and men's fencing team ended the day with a win over Cal Tech 26-1 and UNC 15-12.
