ROSEMONT, Ill. ââ'¬" Three from Penn State received Big Ten Swimming & Diving weekly recognition Wednesday, as Hector Garcia Boissier and Mackenzie Cornell swept the men's and women's diver of the week awards, respectively, and Kaelan Freund (Lethbridge, Alberta) earned his fourth-straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor.

The Nittany Lions continued to see success on the boards Friday at Villanova, as Garcia and Cornell swept the men's and women's diving events. Garcia set a personal best in the 1-meter of 405.15 and won the 3-meter with a score of 376.65. Cornell posted a score of 319.95 in the 3-meter and 273.38 in the 1-meter. All scores exceeded the NCAA Zone qualifying standards.

Garcia, a sophomore, earned the weekly diving honor for his second time, while Cornell, a senior, earned it for the first time in her career and in her last opportunity to so.

Freund continued his winning ways in the 200 breast (2:00.88) and contributed to a first-place mark in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.37. He has now won the award following his last four meets.

Penn State will next compete in the Big Ten Championships. The women's meet is Feb. 15-18 at Purdue, while the men's meet is Feb. 22-25 at Ohio State.
