FENC: Men's Team Finish Day One of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS ââ'¬" The Penn State Nittany Lion men's fencing team finished day one of competition at the 2017 NCAA Fencing Championships at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Penn State is currently in 11th place after round three of competition.

Leading the men in the sabre is junior Andrew Mackiewicz (Westwood, Mass.), going 9-15 and sitting in ninth place. Sophomore Karol Metryka (Linden, N.J.) went 8-15 and sits in 12th place in the sabre event.

In men's epee sophomore Anton Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas) also went 8-15 and is in 10th place with freshman Clinton Rodell (Annadale, VA) went 4-15 and is 23rd. The men's team will be back in action tomorrow with bouts starting at 9 a.m.
