FENC: Women's Fencers Close Out NCAA Competition

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Penn State women's fencing team concluded competition today at the 2017 NCAA Fencing Championships at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The Nittany Lions ended the 2017 NCAA Championships with a seventh place finish.

Senior Teodora Kakhiani (Tbilisi, Georgia) took second place, earning All American laurels, in the women's saber. Teammate Karen Chang (Hong Kong, China), a junior, finished in 12th place.

In the women's foil, freshman Jade Rowland (Princeton Junction, N.J.) took 12th place and senior Desree Ortega-Furgeson (Wyoming, Mich.) finished in 14th place.

Senior Jessica O'Neil-Lyublinsky (North Salem, N.Y.) finished competition in 11th place in the epee while Jessie Radnanovich ( Tollhouse, Calif.) took 13th.

The Penn State fencing team concluded its 2016-17 season with the NCAA Championship, garnering yet another top ten finish. The Nittany Lions have won 13 NCAA fencing titles, the most in the nation.
