UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The Penn State women's golf team competed in rounds one and two at the Bryan National Collegiate due to inclement weather yesterday postponing the first round. The lions shot 617 on the day and are in 14th place.
Penn State shot a 305 and 312 in their two rounds. Notre Dame is ahead of the Lions by ten strokes in 13th place.
Sophomore Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.) leads the team with a score of 150, shooting a 74 and 76 in her two rounds today. Basso is tied for 38th in the player leaderboard.
Senior Kate Granahan (Allentown, Pa.) and sophomore Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) both head into the final round with scores of 154. Granahan posted a 76 and 78, respectively in her rounds, while Waller shot a 75 and 79.
Sophomore Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) shot an 80 and 81 on her way to a score of 161, while the newcomer Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.) finished with a score of 163, posting scores of 84 and 79 in her rounds.
The University of Alabama is the only team under par with a score of 573 3-under, heading into the final round. The second placed team is Georgia with a score of 578 plus-2.
The final round will get underway tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
