UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After leading Penn State men's volleyball to a 2-0 EIVA clinching week at home against Charleston (WV) and George Mason, redshirt freshman Calvin Mende earned his second conference weekly award of the season, being selected as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

Mende averaged 4.83 kills per set, hitting .457 in a 2-0 week for Penn State which included a 3-0 victory over Charleston (W.Va.) and a 3-1 decision over George Mason in Rec Hall.



Mende wrapped up the weekend with 24 kills in the win over George Mason hitting at a .543 clip in the regular season finale that cemented Penn State as the No. 1 seed heading into this weekend's tournament.



The Redlands, Calif. native added six digs, three blocks and a service ace over the weekend as well.



For the year, Mende is currently fourth in the EIVA in hitting percentage (.305), and sixth in kills (292) and kills/set (3.28).
