Day Two at the Big Ten Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The Penn State women's golf team shot a 309 in the second round of the Big Ten Championship, heading into the final day in ninth place.

The Nittany Lions have a two-stroke lead over the tenth place team Maryland, while the eighth placed team Minnesota, leads the lions by six strokes.

Sophomore Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) led the way, hitting a team-high three birdies in round two on her way to a round score of 75, 3-over. Waller is tied for 29th with a tournament score of 153.

Sophomore Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) finished strong today, shooting a 1-under through her back-nine to end the round with a 78. Rogowicz is right in front of Waller with a 152, tied in 21st place.

Newcomers Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.) and Ashni Dhruva (Katy, Tx.) shot scores of 76 and 80, respectively in round two. Herr is tied for 36th with a 155, while Dhruva has a tournament score of 159.

Senior Kate Granahan (Allentown, Pa.) shot an 80 in the second round, and has a 163 on the tournament. While, sophomore Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.) shot an 86, for a total score of 161.

Northwestern stays in the lead for the second straight day after shooting a 285, 3-under in round two. The Wildcats have a tournament score of 573 and hold an eight-stroke lead over Michigan State.

Final round action begins tomorrow with an 8:00 a.m. start time.
