Carter Dubbed B1G Co-Offensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Sophomore attack Madison Carter (Davidsonville, Md.) has been named the Big Ten women's lacrosse Co-Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Carter takes home her third Offensive Player of the Week honor this season and her second in as many weeks after a pair of impressive offensive outputs during victories over Drexel and Ohio State last week.

The sophomore scored eight goals and added three assists for 11 total points while shooting at a .667 clip to secure her ninth and tenth games this season with at least three goals. Carter scored three times while adding a pair of assists for five points during a 15-6 victory over Drexel before scoring five goals with one assist in a 16-12 victory over Ohio State.

Carter has scored at least two goals in every game this season and leads the Big Ten with 48 goals, which ranks third nationally. She currently has a 21-game goal streak and has registered at least two goals in 27 of her 34 games played only being held without a single goal once in her career. Her 56 points are also good for second in the conference only behind teammate Steph Lazo's 71 and rank ninth in the nation.

Carter has also dominated on the draw this season ranking second in the Big Ten with 77 draw controls. She averages 5.92 draws per game, which ranks second in the conference and tenth in the nation.

The Nittany Lions return to action on Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. contest against Virginia at the Penn State Lacrosse Field.
