Dubois Earns First Team All-Big Ten Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Sophomore Tori Dubois (Mt. Vernon, N.H.) was named First Team All-Big Ten by the conference coaches Wednesday, May 10. The honor marks the first of her career.

Dubois started all 54 games for Penn State in left field, leading the Nittany Lions with a .351 batting average and hitting at an impressive .457 clip in conference play to rank third in the Big Ten. Dubois led Penn State with 52 hits, including six doubles, two triples and six home runs, while crossing home a team-best 31 times. The right-handed hitter tied a team-high 29 RBI in the regular season.

This season, Dubois had 15 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games for Penn State, including driving in four runs against Georgia Tech. Dubois was also voted as the 2017 Penn State Softball Offensive Player of the Year.

Additionally, junior Gianna Arrizurieta (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for the Blue and White. Arrizurieta worked her way into the Penn State starting lineup midway through the season, earning starts in both right field and at second base. The Pembroke Pines native appeared in 38 games with 29 starts and tallying two doubles against Indiana. For her efforts, Arrizurieta was also named the 2017 Penn State Softball team MVP.

Penn State kicks off the 2017 Big Ten Tournament Thursday, May 11 when it takes on No. 5 Nebraska at 1:30 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex on the campus of the University of Michigan.
