UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 2018 date has been set for one of the highlights of the Penn State sports calendar, the annual Blue-White Game presented by XFINITY.
The Blue-White football game will be played Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Beaver Stadium. The intra-squad scrimmage is tentatively scheduled to kick in the early to mid-afternoon. More details about Blue-White Game and related events will be announced after the 2017 regular season.
The Nittany Lions concluded spring practice on April 22, with an estimated 71,000 fans attending the Blue-White Game, the nation's fourth-largest spring football crowd this year. The Blue-White Game presented by XFINITY is the university's unofficial annual spring reunion. The game has drawn more than 50,000 fans in nine of the past 11 years, including five crowds above 70,000.
The Nittany Lions' home schedule features a trio of non-conference games, including Pitt's first visit to Beaver Stadium since 1999. The Nittany Lions open the season against Akron (Sept. 2) and face Pitt (Sept. 9) and Georgia State (Sept. 16) to close out a three-game homestand to start the year. In Big Ten play, Penn State welcomes Indiana (Sept. 30), Michigan (Oct. 21), Rutgers (Nov. 11 - Homecoming) and Nebraska (Nov. 18) to Happy Valley.
