She entered the tournament ranked 202nd by the International Fencing Federation (FIE). Kakhiani downed Italy's Rossella Gregoria by a 15-8 score in the finals. Gregoria is a winner of multiple medals in both World and European Championships events and a member of the Italian National Team. Rossella was ranked No. 13 by the FIE.
