UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Incoming freshman Kerry Abello (Batavia, Ill.) recently completed a training camp with the United States U-19 Women's National Team in the Czech Republic. Abello was one of 20 players named to the roster for the international trip.
The training camp, which was held from June 5-14, included a pair of matches against the Czech Republic U-19 WNT (June 10) and the full Czech Republic Women's National Team (June 13).
In a 2-1 loss against the Czech Republic U-19 WNT, Abello started the second half and played the final 45 minutes of the match. The U.S. U-19 WNT then closed out the trip with a 5-2 loss against the full Czech Republic WNT, in which Abello started the match and played the first 76 minutes.
Abello's trip to the Czech Republic marked her third call-up with the U.S. U-19 WNT this year; she also joined the U.S. U-19 WNT for training camps in May and February.
