Dickson, Price Lead for Second Day at Mid-Atlantics

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Penn State junior Robbie Dickson and senior Niki Price again led the Nittany Lions at the 2017 Middle Atlantic Senior Swimming Championships, as the pair earned first-place finishes on the third day of the meet Friday in Kinney Natatorium.

Dickson won the men's 400m IM in 4:33.12 for his second event win and third top-two finish is as many days. Price not only claimed gold in the women's 100-meter breaststroke, but she bested her previous best by four seconds by touching the wall in 1:13.38. Aleksandra Tulacz placed seventh in the same race in 1:15.64.

Hannah Blaser also finished in the medals with a third-place finish in the women's 200m free, improving on her personal best by 1.5 seconds to touch in 2:06.09.

Auckie Fenstermacher also set a personal best in the men's 200m free, cracking the Top 10 with a one second improvement of 1:57.57.

All of the times surpassed the U.S. Futures Championships qualifying standard.

The Middle Atlantic Senior Swimming Championships continue through Saturday. The U.S. Open Swimming Championships are Aug. 2-6 in Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, New York, and the U.S. Futures Swimming Championships are Aug. 3-6 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
