UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Head coach Bob Warming and the Penn State men's soccer team announced the hiring of Destiny Rodriguez as the Director of Operation Tuesday, July 18.

As the Director of Operations, Rodriguez will be responsible for, overseeing the budget, coordinating class schedules, hiring and managing student managers, coordinating camps; scheduling non-conference and tournament games, act as a liaison to the Big Ten Conference and departments within Penn State Athletics; plan, coordinate, and execute year-long travel plans; handle the arrangement of team practice schedules; coordinate team community service events; and organize all aspects of recruiting visits.

"I'm really excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Penn State men's soccer family," said Rodriguez. "It's an honor to be able to work for my alma mater and for such a great group of players and coaches."

Rodriguez moves into the director of operations position after working as an operations assistant with the Penn State football team where she coordinated team community service events, assisted with the organization of team travel and events, assisted with the career development program for student-athletes, helped with team arrival, and social media, while also overseeing facility operations and assisting with summer camps.

Prior to her time with the football team, Rodriguez was an intern for Marriott Vacation Club Events and Activities where she led and coordinated daily activities for guests of all ages. During her time with Marriot, she created and won the companywide 2016 Internship Project, based on resort improvements.

Rodriguez earned her bachelor's degree in recreation park and tourism management from Penn State in May of 2017. During her time at Penn State she served as the President of Penn State Air Force Silver Wings Service Organization and Vice President of Penn State Event Planning Organization.
