UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - On Thursday, August 24, 2017, at 12 p.m., Tanisha Wright will give a gallery talk with a discussion in the Penn State All-Sports Museum's basketball gallery.
Tanisha Wright is a WNBA professional basketball player born in Brooklyn, New York but raised in West Mifflin, PA. Upon securing a full scholarship to Penn State, Wright would lead the Lady Lions to two Sweet Sixteen appearances and one Elite Eight appearance while advancing to the NCAA tournament every year in her four-year career. Wright graduated Penn State in 2005 with a Degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, the Seattle Storm selected Wright with the 12th pick of the WNBA draft. Wright will share what brought her to Penn State, her experiences as a Lady Lion and with the WNBA upon graduation.
Gallery talks are held in the Penn State All-Sports Museum, which is located on the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium opposite the Bryce Jordan Center. A long canopy leading from Curtin Road marks the Museum entrance. There is a small kiosk lot across the street from the museum for visitor parking, as well as in Lot 44 for those with an appropriate pass. All gallery talks are live-streamed on the PSASM's Facebook page for those unable to attend. This event is free and open to the community.
The Penn State All-Sports Museum will host monthly gallery talks with a wide variety of coaches, alumni, and scholars throughout 2017. The gallery talks are casual, and no registration is required. Below is a list of upcoming gallery talks. Dates are subject to change.
