Big Ten Release
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State field hockey junior midfielder Gini Bramley (Elizabethtown, Pa.) was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
This is the first time in her career that Bramley has earned Big Ten weekly honors for the Nittany Lions in her three year career.
Bramley, the 2016 Big Ten Tournament MVP, scored the first goal of the 2017 season for Penn State and sparked a comeback that saw the Nittany Lions erase a two goal deficit and top No. 23 Old Dominion Friday afternoon in Norfolk, Va. In game two of the opening weekend road trip, Bramley notched two goals against the No. 10 Virginia defense to help Penn State move to 2-0 on the year.
This is the first Big Ten Athlete of the Week for Penn State since Aurelia Meijer on Oct. 25, 2016.
Penn State hosts Temple this Friday at 6 p.m. in their first home game of the 2017 season.
