UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.-- The Penn State Nittany Lion men's tennis team, under the direction of head coach Jeff Zinn, has announced the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule. The Nittany Lions will take part in six tournaments from mid-September through early November.
Penn State, which will feature a talented and veteran roster, opens up its season on September 22-24 at Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton Ivy Plus. The next week from Sept. 30 through Oct. 9, qualified individuals will compete at the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Okla.
Two weekends later, qualified individuals will take part in ITA Regionals in Lynchburg, Va., on Oct. 19-22. The next weekend, Michigan State hosts Big Ten Indoors on Oct. 27-29 for qualified players. The fall season concludes on Nov. 3-5, with the William and Mary Invite in Williamsburg, Va.
"As a staff we try to put together a fall season that will challenge all of our players regardless of what position they play in our lineup," said Zinn. "We feel that the competition will give our players the necessary work they will need to have a successful spring season. We want our players to play a ton of matches both in singles and doubles and get the confidence they need for the grueling Big 10 season and the out of conference competition that we schedule. We hope we've done a good job in finding tournaments that meet these goals of the team."
