UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Head Coach Denise St. Pierre and the Penn State women's golf team released their full 2017-18 season schedule earlier this week. The team starts the season with a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia to compete for the first time in the William & Mary Invitational from Sunday, Sept. 10 through Tuesday, Sept. 12.
"Our upcoming fall schedule boasts 3 new tournament sites for our team; William &Mary, Kentucky and University of Delaware's tournaments are all new sites for the team and prove to give us a good mix of ranked teams to help set the bar," Head Coach St. Pierre said.
The Nittany Lions return home two weeks later to host the Nittany Lion Invitational, their only home event, at the Penn State Blue Course from Sept. 23 through Sept. 24.
The team won their 21st Nittany Lion Invitational last year, and encourages everyone to come out and cheer them on while they play this year. Admission to the invitational is free for the public.
Beginning Friday, Oct. 6, the team will compete at the Betty Lou Evans Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. The three-day tournament is the second new site on the schedule for the Nittany Lions this season.
After a two-week break the team heads to their third new site of the season, the Blue Hen Invitational (Oct. 20 - 21) in Newark, Delaware. They will then finish out the first portion of their season at the Landfall Tradition (Oct. 27 - 29) in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Penn State begins the spring season down in Florida, starting with the UCF Invitational (Feb. 5 - 6) in Orlando, followed by the Hurricane Invitational (Mar. 4 - 6) in Miami. The team will then head back to North Carolina for the Briar's Creek Invitational (Mar. 19 - 20) in Charleston.
The Nittany Lions will close out their spring season at the Lady Buckeye (Apr. 14 - 15) in Columbus, Ohio before the Big Ten Championship set to take place in Maineville, Ohio starting Friday, Apr. 20 through Sunday, Apr. 22.
