Sept. 14, 2017
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State students continued to show their excitement for Nittany Lion men's ice hockey as they shattered the previous record by purchasing their entire season ticket allotment in just two minutes and 12 seconds. The Roar Zone is now sold out for the fifth consecutive season.
The previous record of three minutes was set in September 2014 during the first-ever men's hockey online sale. The fan base also rallied for the 2015-16 season selling out in five minutes.
"The Roar Zone continues to show why they are the best student section in college hockey," commented Head Coach Guy Gadowsky. "Selling out their ticket allotment in just over two minutes is unbelievable, we can't wait to play in front of them this season."
A 13 game season-ticket package went on sale for students at 7 a.m. and the sale was closed just after 7:02 a.m. Students will attend all games with the exception of the Michigan State series (Nov. 24-25) during Thanksgiving break and the Wisconsin series (Jan. 5-6) during winter break.
Tickets in the student section for those four games are just $18.00 and are still available HERE or by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Penn State has sold out 57 consecutive games dating back to the 2013-14 season including all 20 home contests last year. PSU ranked number one in the nation last season in capacity percentage filling Pegula Ice Arena to 104.2 percent on average. The Nittany Lions were also one of just five teams to average over 6,000 fans each night ranking fifth at 6,026 per contest.
Your first chance to see the 2017-18 Nittany Lions will be during the International Game on October 1 at 3 p.m. and tickets are still available HERE starting at just $10. Penn State then opens its home slate against American International College on October 19 for the first of six straight home games through November 4.
Tickets are always available for resale through TM+ and standing room only can be purchased by calling 1-800-NITTANY.
