PENN STATE SET FOR FIFTH ANNUAL MACK BRADY MATCH
The Penn State men's soccer team will host the Fifth Annual Mack Brady Memorial Match Sunday, September 17 when No. 3 Maryland comes to town for a 5 p.m. match up at Jeffrey Field.

HISTORY OF MACK BRADY MATCH
This Sunday, the Nittany Lions will host their fifth Mack Brady Memorial Match when the No. 3 Terrapins visit Jeffrey Field. Brady passed away on Dec. 31, 2012 due to an unexpected blood infection at the age of eight. To honor his life and love for soccer (specifically goalkeeping), Mack's parents, Christian and Elizabeth Brady, created the "Mack Brady Memorial Soccer Fund." The fund is an endowment for Penn State goalkeepers to help in recruiting, equipment and other needs.

UNDEFEATED IN MACK BRADY MATCHES
The Blue and White have always found a way in Mack Brady Match, coming in undefeated this season. The first year, Penn State tied with Cal 1-1 in double overtime before defeating OSU 1-0 in the 2014 campaign. The Nittany Lions then defeated then-No. 10 Indiana in the 2015 Mack Brady Match off a Robby Sagel goal. Last season, the Blue and White earned a 4-2 victory over Ohio State for its second Mack Brady victory over the Buckeyes.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST THE TERPS
The Nittany Lions lost a heartbreaking match in College Park, Maryland in the 2016 season, falling 3-2 to the then-No. 4 Terrapins. Penn State took the lead on two occasions but fouls in the box proved costly as Maryland capitalized on two penalty kicks and found the golden goal in the overtime period.

SCOUTING NO. 3 MARYLAND
The No. 3 Terrapins have slowly risen in the rankings this season after going 5-0-1 in their first six matches. Maryland's lone tie came against No. 1 Indiana in the first Big Ten Conference match for the two squads.

UMD has outscored its opponents 13-4 and is averaging 2.17 goals per match. Maryland leads the Big Ten in four offensive categories including: shots, points, goals and goal per game, while five players rank in the top-10 in individual offensive categories. Gordon Wild has paced the Terrapin offense with five goals on the season, while Jake Rozhansky and Eric Matzelevich have each netted two goals. Rozhansky has also been a helping hand for Maryland with four assists this year and eight total points. In goal, Dayne St. Clair has played all 567:33 minutes, giving up four goals and making 16 saves. St. Clair carries a .800 save percentage and a 0.63 goals against average.

JEFFREY FIELD DOMINANCE
Penn State has enjoyed success at Jeffrey Field with over 300 victories at the famed field. Impressively, the Nittany Lions have never posted a losing season at Jeffrey Field in 44 years, going 329-86-36 all-time for a winning percentage of .771. Last season, PSU went 8-2-1 at Jeffrey Field and over the past five seasons the Nittany Lions are 37-11-5 en route to a pair of Big Ten titles in 2012 and 2013. In the 44-year history of the stadium, Jeffrey Field has welcomed over 540,000 fans through its gates.

NEXT TIME OUT
Penn State remains at Jeffrey Field for a mid-week non-conference contest against the Titans of Detroit Mercy Wednesday, September 20. The two squads square off at 7 p.m.
