UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 2 Penn State volleyball team moved to 10-0 for the 12th time under Head Coach Russ Rose with a 3-0; 25-15, 25-15 25-19, win over Ohio University to wrap up their play in the Penn State Classic at Rec Hall.

Penn State saw senior Simone Lee (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) earn Tournament Most Valuable Player honors, while fellow senior Haleigh Washington (Colorado Springs, Co.) and sophomore Kendall White (Indianapolis, Ind.) were named to the All-Tournament team.

Lee finished with a game-high 12 kills, hitting .500, adding nine digs and two blocks, including a solo.

Washington added nine kills while dishing out three aces. She also tallied four blocks.

White led the team with 12 digs, while also adding two aces.

Despite seven tied scores through the beginning of the first set, the Nittany Lions took care of business, putting down 12 kills, with just one error, for a clip of .611 as a team. Washington led the way with four kills in the opening set, adding two blocks. Lee added three of her own. The team dished out four aces in the set, led by White, who tallied two strikes.

The second set started the same with a yo-yoing score between the two squads. Lee continued to be a dominant force, both offensively and defensively. Finally, the Nittany Lions were able to pull ahead, and gain some momentum and close out the set.

Ohio continued to put up a fight in the third set as they continued to scrap with the Nittany Lions. With the final set within a point as PSU led just, 11-10, the Nittany Lions rattled off four-straight points and refused to let the pesky Bobcats get back into the match.

Penn State continues their homestand as they take on No. 10 Nebraska on Friday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. The promotion that evening is "White Out Rec Hall," and all fans are encouraged to don white attire.
