Sept. 21, 2017
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Following back-to-back National Semifinals appearances, head coach Missy Doherty and the Penn State women's lacrosse team will be hosting a free youth clinic twice a week throughout the month of October.
The clinic is open to girls in grades 3-8 and will be led by Doherty, her staff and members of the Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team. It will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. beginning Wednesday October 4 and running through Wednesday October 25 at the Penn State Lacrosse Field.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring full lacrosse equipment, including a mouth guard.
Campers will also need a signed medical release form to be submitted on the day of the clinic or emailed to assistant coach Tara Hohenshelt (tmr130@psu.edu). Participants will not be permitted to participate without a medical release form.
Doherty, the 2015 Big Ten Coach of the Year, is entering her eighth season at the helm of Penn State and has led them to six straight NCAA tournaments including the National Semifinals the past two seasons. Six starters return from the 2017 team while 12 newcomers will vie to solidify their spot in the lineup once the 2018 season kicks off.
