UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 28 Penn State football alumni are populating the active rosters of 20 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com has provided updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.
Week 5 of the NFL season featured the second eight-tackle game in as many weeks for Bears safety Adrian Amos, who has thrived in a return to the starting lineup. A pair of NFL veterans shined for the 49ers as linebacker Navorro Bowman made 10 tackles and Robbie Gould converted all five of his kicks. Gould also made his 300th career field goal in the game. Additionally, Penn State men's lacrosse alum Chris Hogan made a career-high eight receptions, while men's basketball alum Ross Travis had a career-high 26 yards receiving.

Amos started at safety for the Bears and made a game-high eight tackles in a Monday night loss. It was his second consecutive game making eight stops.

Bell is on the Bengals practice squad.
Navorro Bowman (2007-09) LB, San Francisco 49ers
Colts 26, 49ers 23 (OT)
Bowman started for the 49ers and had 10 tackles, five of which were solo, in an overtime loss to the Colts.

Godwin worked at wide receiver and on special teams against the Patriots. He had an 8-yard catch for a first down in the red zone to help a scoring drive, as well as a tackle on special teams.
Robbie Gould (2001-04) K, San Francisco 49ers

Gould converted all three of his field goal attempts (28, 43, 40) and both of his extra point attempts to account for 11 of the 49ers' points against the Colts. Gould ranks second in the NFL with field goals made this season with 14. He reached the 300-field goal mark for his career in the game.

Wake started for the Dolphins and had four tackles, including two solo stops and a half-sack. He also had four quarterback hits.
