FNC: Nittany Lions head to Anaheim for Olympic Trials

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Eighteen Penn State fencers are heading to Anaheim, Calif., this upcoming weekend to compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials. The Olympic Trials will start on Friday, Oct. 13th at 4 p.m. EST and will run until Monday, Oct. 16th.

Members of the Penn State women's team competing for Penn State this weekend are as follows: Epee: Freshman Alexandra Gillis (Dix Hill, N.Y), Sophomores Barbara VanBenthuysen (Spring, Texas) and Yumin Wang (Monmouth Junction, N.J.), Junior Alissa Hofmann (Cambridge, Mass.). Foil: Freshman Isabella Zuzulo (Newtown, Pa.). Saber: Freshmen Zara Moss (Cranberry Township, Pa.) and Sara Cunningham (Decatur, Ga.).

Members of the men's team competing for Penn State this weekend are: Epee: Sophomore Clinton Rodell (Annadale, Va.), Juniors Anton Piskovatsov (Houston, Texas) and Joshua Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Senior Alfred Galeno (Queens, N.Y.). Foil: Freshman Shane Iveson (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Sophomore Andrey Ostatnigrosh (Fresno, Calif.), Junior Julian Fevry (St. Albans, N.Y.). Saber: Freshman Stephan Matthews (Denver, Colo.), Juniors Karol Metryka (Linden, N.J.) and Gavin Turner (Rehoboth, Mass), Senior Andrew Mackiewicz (Westwood, Mass.).
