WGolf on top of the leaderboard at Blue Hen Invitational

Rehoboth Beach, Del.- The Penn State women's golf team pulled ahead of eight teams at the Blue Hen Invitational, leaving them tied for first place after two rounds of play.

The Nittany Lions came from behind shooting a 302 (plus-14) in round one. The team scored a 298 (plus-10) in the second round to secure their top spot, alongside Harvard.

Junior Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa,) is in the lead for the team holding the individual fourth place slot. Rogowicz moved up 9 spots from round one, shooting one-under 71 in round two. She is leading the team in birdies with a total of nine between the two rounds.

Following close behind is sophomore Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.) tied for individual seventh. Herr wrapped up the first round two-over 74 and the second three-over 75 for a two-round score of 149 (plus-5).

Junior Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.) had the only eagle of the tournament on the ninth hole in the second round. Basso holds tenth place with a two-round score of 151 (plus-7). Sophomore Megan McLean (Lebanon, N.J.), playing as an individual, finished the day with a 152 (plus-8) and tied for 11th.

Junior Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa) grabbed 13th place shooting 153 (plus-9). While fellow junior Kamerine Taylor (Dublin, Oh.) shot a 157 (plus-13).

"We had some great holes and great shots, but still left some things undone," said Head Coach Denise St. Pierre, "We have reviewed our game plans and look forward to our final round tomorrow."

The Nittany Lions will tee off for the championship round at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
