Rogowicz Named B1G Golfer of the Week

Oct. 25, 2017

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced the selection of Penn State junior Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) as the women's golfer of the week. Rogowicz shot an even-par three-round total in the Blue Hen Invitational to lead Penn State to the tournament title over the weekend.

Rogowicz recorded 41 holes at or below par for the weekend, highlighted by a tournament-leading 14 birdies. Her three-round even-par total of 216 (76-71-69) led her to a second place finish at the Blue Hen Invitational in Rehoboth Beach, Del. this past weekend. The second-place finish marks the second top-three finish for Rogowicz this season and the fifth of her career.

Rogowicz's even-par, second-place finish helped lead the Nittany Lions to their second tournament title of the fall season with a team total of 889 at the Blue Hen Invitational. The team last took home first at the William & Mary Invitational in September. There, Rogowicz earned the individual first place title after winning the opening playoff hole.

This is Rogowicz's second Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor and first for the 2017 season. Rogowicz last took home the Big Ten Golfer of the week on Sep. 9, 2015, her freshman season.

The Nittany Lions have finished in the top-three at each of their four tournaments this fall including a pair of victories.

Penn State concludes its fall season this weekend, Oct. 27-29, at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
