UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State senior linebacker Jason Cabinda (Flemington, N.J.) was selected as the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week after his performance against Indiana. Penn State will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Cabinda's performance.
Cabinda finished with 14 tackles, including six solo stops, a sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery against the Hoosiers. He tied his career high with 14 stops, equaling the mark he set against Army in 2015. The effort marked the seventh double-digit tackle performance of Cabinda's career. Cabinda also recovered the first fumble of his career, which was caused by Christian Campbell, in the first quarter. Cabinda's sack was his first of the season and 4.5th of his career.
The fourth-ranked Nittany Lions visit Northwestern Saturday at noon on ABC. The game can also be heard on GoPSUsports.com and the Penn State Sports Network.
