WGolf Travels to Kentucky for Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

Lexington, Ky. - After two weeks off, the Penn State women's golf team travels to Lexington, Kentucky to compete in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational, Oct. 6-8, hosted by the University of Kentucky.

The tournament will take place at the University Club of Kentucky on the Big Blue course. The course plays 6,221 yards and is a par-72. The site is brand new to the Nittany Lions this year.

The 54-hole event will take place Friday through Sunday and be played in an 18-18-18 format. Play will begin each day at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start set for Sunday's championship round.

Penn State will tee off from hole one on Friday, owning the tee times from 9 a.m. through 9:45 a.m.

Head Coach Denise St. Pierre is going with the same starting lineup that brought home first place in the William & Mary Invitational. The lineup includes, juniors Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.), Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.), Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.), Kamerine Taylor (Dublin, Oh.) and sophomore Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.).

Joining the lineup for this week is senior Ariana Coyle Diez (Dublin, Ireland). Diez appeared in the Nittany Lion Invitational two weeks ago. This will be her second tournament of the season.

"We are looking forward to playing in the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Kentucky," said Coach St. Pierre, "After a strong start to our fall season, we are ready for the next step and look forward to the great competition."

The field includes 16 teams. Penn State is joined by three other Big Ten teams, Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. The other 14 teams are, host University of Kentucky, Akron, Ball State, Bradley, Cincinnati, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Illinois State, Murray State, Notre Dame, Toledo and Western Kentucky.
