MGOLF Inks One to 2018 Signing Class

Nov. 20, 2017

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team added one student-athlete to its 2018 signing class as Hunter Bruce signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 15, at Peters Township High School.

"The opportunity that I have been given to play and compete at such a storied university and program is incredible," said Hunter Bruce. "Under the direction of Coach Nye and Coach Howe, I am confident that I will be able to grow and develop my game at the next level. It is a great honor to become a Penn Stater and I am excited to join my fellow teammates and coaches next fall."

The McMurray, Pa., native joins a long line of Western Pennsylvania golfers who have continued their careers at Penn State. Bruce is a winner of the 2017 Western Pennsylvania Golf Association junior tournament, finished second individually in the 2017 PIAA Class AAA State Championships, and is ranked third in Pennsylvania by Junior Golf Scoreboard.

"Hunter has set a terrific foundation of experiences and results from which he will grow," said Penn State coach Greg Nye. "He has a tremendous work ethic and we look forward to assisting in his development as a young man and golfer."

The 2017-18 Nittany Lions will be back in action when they open their spring season when they play for the Athletic Director's Trophy against West Virginia on February 4, 2018 in Orlando, Fla.
