MGOLF's Miller Places 12th in All-American Event

El Paso, Texas - Senior Cole Miller earned a 12th-place finish in the Sun Bowl Andeavor All-America Golf Classic with a score of 4-under for the tournament. The two-day, three-round event was held at El Paso Country Club and featured 31 of the nation's best collegiate golfers.

Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) shot back-to-back rounds of 1-under 70 on day one, followed by a 2-under 69 in the tournament's final round on Tuesday.

The Sun Bowl Andeavor All-America Golf Classic has been played yearly since 1976, excluding 1987, and has featured golfing greats Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Davis Love III. Alumni from the event have gone on to win a combined 52 major championships and earned over $2 billion on tour.

The event started with a long drive and putting contest on Sunday, followed by the tournament's first two rounds on Monday, and concluded with the third and final round on Tuesday. Along with the top-15 finish in the tournament, Miller finished seventh in the long drive competition with a drive of 303 yards and tied for seventh in the putting contest.

The Penn State men's golf team will be back in action when it opens its spring season competing for for the Athletic Director's Trophy against West Virginia on February 4, 2018, in Orlando, Fla.
