WINTHROP, Mass. - Following a stretch of three games within a five-day span, a pair of Nittany Lions have received weekly honors from the College Hockey America (CHA) conference. For Penn State, Hannah Ehresmann (Minnetonka, Minn.) was named the CHA Goalie of the Week, while Natalie Heising (Maple Grove, Minn.) was tabbed the CHA Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Ehresmann receives CHA Goalie of the Week honors for the second time this season and for the fourth time as a Nittany Lion; Heising's CHA Rookie of the Week plaudit is the first of her career.
Last week, Penn State played to a 1-1 tie at No. 8 Cornell (Nov. 21), before heading to the Nutmeg Classic in Storrs, Conn. At the Nutmeg Classic, Penn State tied UConn, 1-1, (Nov. 24) and tied Yale, 2-2, (Nov. 25).
For Ehresmann, she started all three games, recorded a goals-against average of 1.23, tallied a save percentage of .937, and recorded 59 saves.
During Penn State's three-game non-conference stretch, Heising tallied three points on one goal and two assists.
In Penn State's 1-1 tie at No. 8 Cornell, Heising recorded the primary assist on Penn State's lone goal of the game.
After being held off the scoresheet at UConn, Heising tallied her second career one-goal and one-assist outing in Penn State's 2-2 tie against Yale. Against Yale, Penn State scored twice in the third period to force overtime, which included Heising's goal at 6:55 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Penn State closes out the fall semester with a pair of games at RIT on Dec. 1-2. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. at the Gene Polisseni Center in Rochester, N.Y.
