UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.ââ'¬" Four members of the Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team competed at the Princeton Open today as the open tournament season gets underway. Wrestlers were competing both attached an unattached at the event.
True freshman Brady Berge (Mantorville, Minn.), wrestling unattached at 157, has a strong debut wrestling at the collegiate level. The true freshman, redshirting this season, advanced to the semifinals with two major decisions before dropping a match. He rebounded from that loss to win twice including in the consolation finals, placing third at his first tournament. Berge went 4-1 with two majors.
Sophomore Francisco Bisono (Hauppauge, N.Y.) competed at 184 and picked up a victory. Redshirt freshman Justin Lopez (Yonkers, N.Y.) competed at 125 and redshirt freshman Alex Nicholas (Allentown, Pa.) wrestled at 285 as well.
A number of Nittany Lions will compete at tomorrow's Clarion Open and two Nittany Lion All-Americans will take part in the NWCA All-Star Classic exhibition tomorrow at Princeton (those two matches do not count towards overall records).
