UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore midfielder/forward Laura Freigang (Oppenheim, Germany) has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for the week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5. This is the first TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week plaudit for Freigang.

This past weekend, the Penn State women's soccer team tallied a pair of victories en route to its seventh Big Ten Tournament title. On the weekend, Freigang tallied one goal in each match, was named the Offensive Player of the Big Ten Tournament, and garnered Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors.

On Friday, Nov. 3, Freigang scored with 42 seconds left in double overtime to give then-No. 15 Penn State a 1-0 victory over then-No. 9 Ohio State in the Big Ten Semifinal round. Two days later, Freigang netted her fifth goal of the season to tie the match against Northwestern at 1-1 with 19:26 left in regulation. Eight minutes after the Freigang goal, senior Haleigh Echard's (Lebanon, Pa.) goal with 11:42 left in regulation stood as the game-winner, as Penn State topped Northwestern, 2-1.

With the 2017 NCAA Tournament field finalized, No. 10 Penn State is a No. 3 seed in the bracket. Penn State will host Stony Brook in the first round on Friday, Nov. 10. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start at Jeffrey Field.

Ticket sales at Jeffrey Field are cash only, but fans can purchase tickets for the match prior to Friday by calling 1-800-NITTANY or visiting the ticket office at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Ticket prices are: $8 for adults, $5 for youth and students of participating schools and $3 for groups of 20 or more.
