Dec. 18, 2017

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" Junior guard Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) is one of three student-athletes named to the Big Ten women's basketball weekly honor roll for the week of Dec. 11-17.

The selection to the weekly honor roll marks the sixth career Big Ten weekly honor for Page, as she is a three-time Player of the Week selection (2016-17: 11/21, 12/5, 12/19), was selected as the conference Freshman of the Week once (2015-16: 11/21) and now has two nods on the B1G Weekly Honor Roll (2016-17: 2/13; 2017-18: 12/18).

Page scored 17 of her game-high 27 points in the second half, including eight-straight points midway through the fourth quarter after Pitt had trimmed the Penn State lead from 14 points to just six, 49-43, with 6:17 to play.

The 27-point effort marked the 24th of her career and third of the season. She added three steals, two rebounds and one assist in 38 minutes.

Page moved up one spot on the career scoring charts at Pittsburgh, passing Bethany Collins (1,186; 1985-88) for No. 26 all-time. She also became the 26th Lady Lion to reach 1,200 career points, ending the game with 1,210 career tallies.

On the season, Page leads the Lady Lions with 17.0 points per game, netting 119 tallies in seven games played. She has reached double-figures in five of her seven games since returning from injury and is shooting a team-best 83.8 percent (31-of-37) from the charity stripe.

The Big Ten announced Page, along with Katelynn Flaherty of Michigan and Kenisha Bell of Minnesota as the weekly honor roll recipients. Iowa's Megan Gustafson and Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell shared the Player of the Week accolade.

Penn State will play its final non-conference affair on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at American. The Lady Lions (9-3) and Eagles (6-4) will square off in Washington, D.C. at 1 p.m. inside Bender Arena.
