UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --The Penn State women's basketball team led by two points with 3:09 to play against No. 15/14 Maryland Sunday (Dec. 31) afternoon inside the Bryce Jordan Center, but the Terrapins scored the final six points of the game to come away with a 69-65 decision.
The Lady Lions (9-6, 0-2 B1G) were the first team this season to take a lead into the fourth quarter against the Terrapins (13-2, 2-0 B1G), owning a 55-54 edge after the first three quarter, and the fourth quarter featured five ties and five lead changes.
The final lead change came with 59 seconds to play on the first of two Stephanie Jones free throws. On the ensuing Penn State possession, Teniya Page (Chicago, Ill.) missed a jumper and Maryland ran the clock all the way down to 12 seconds, when Jones again came up big with a layup just before the shot clock expired to account for the final score.
Sophomore Jaida Travascio-Green (Lisle, Ill.) hit big shot after big shot in the game on her way to the second 20-point game of her career. Travascio-Green ended with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, for a Big Ten-best effort in the scoring column.
It marked the 12th career game with 3-plus makes from 3-point range and the fifth career game with five-or-more makes from distance for the sophomore.

Four Terrapins reached double-figures, as Blair Watson (15 points), Ieshia Small (14), Brianna Fraser (12) and Kristen Confroy (10) all posted double-figure scoring efforts. Kaila Charles led all players with 11 rebounds for Maryland.
