Heising Tabbed CHA Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - Penn State women's hockey freshman forward Natalie Heising (Maple Grove, Minn.) has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the first CHA Player of the Week award for Heising.

Monday's honor marks the third CHA award for Heising, as she has been named the CHA Rookie of the Month (11/1) and the CHA Rookie of the Week (11/27).

The Nittany Lions are coming off a pair of victories at RIT last weekend, Dec. 1-2. Penn State won the opener 5-0 before capturing a 2-0 victory in the series finale.

On the weekend, Heising was tied for the league lead in goals (two), points (three), and shot attempts (10).

In Penn State's 5-0 victory at RIT on Friday, Dec. 1, Heising recorded her first career two-goal game on four shot attempts. Penn State then closed out the series with a 2-0 win on Saturday, Dec. 2, with Heising extending her point streak to three games (3-2-5) on an assist.

Penn State returns to action with a trip to No. 5/7 Ohio State, Jan. 5-6, 2018. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the OSU Ice Rink in Columbus, Ohio.
